Weekend Fun

Scripture of the day: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." -Hebrews 10:23

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We did some projects around the house and some yard work. Saturday night we had my mom and little brothers (they are twins) over for dinner. It was yummy! Sunday was church and then Hubby's parents came over a couple of hours. My mother-in-law is helping me with a quilt. She is actually teaching me how to do it. It is a lot of fun and very rewarding. My father-in-law played with Bear and helped Hubby clear some debris from the backyard. I just want to give a quick shout out to my best friend is her birthday! Happy Birthday!

Here is the Menu for this week:
Monday- Chicken nachos (kinda like a chicken taco salad)
Tuesday- Hamburgers and french fries
Wednesday- Church; either Drive-Thru or sandwiches
Thursday- Chicken and rice skillet and salad
Friday- Pizza
Saturday- Spaghetti, salad, and french bread
Sunday- Leftovers

Philippians 4:6

Scripture of the Day: "Be anxious for nothing, but in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God." -Philippians 4:6

When I think about this verse in the bible, it really makes me think about the heart of God. He is never anxious or fearful. He is always the same. He wants us to be just like Him. Think about it: "Be anxious for nothing", that means NOTHING! We are to go to God in prayer if we feel like something is too overwhelming for us to handle. We are to go to Him for everything. He CAN and WILL take care of us and take away our burdens if we surrender them to Him.

It also says, "with thanksgiving". I personally find it hard to be thankful of anything in the midst of heartache and fear and worry. But we are called to thank God no matter what our situation. I have found that when I give my afflictions and cares to Him, my heart becomes so thankful. Not necessarily for the pain or problem I am going through, but other things come to the front of my mind and I become overwhelmed with joy for the good things in my life.

God wants only good and wonderful things for us. The bible does not indicate that we will never have trouble or problems or heartache. It does say we are to let God handle them. God wants to help us. He wants us to have peace in our lives. He is always there for you no matter what.

Does anything have you down today? Is anything in your life keeping you from being in fellowship with the Lord? If so, pray and give it to God. His heart is not a heart of pain and suffering. His heart is a heart of love and joy and peace. Please pray today with a heart of thanksgiving and "let your requests be known to God."

Here are some uplifting videos, I hope they help to make someone smile today:

Thankful for the Antique mall and tea room

Scripture of the day: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up" -James 4:10

Happy Thankful Thursday! First, I want to talk about the scripture above. This has meant so much to me lately. I know that God is with me and for me. He wants to lift me up when I am down. But it does take some effort on my part and my part is to humble myself before Him. According to, the definition for humble is: 1. not proud or haughty: not arrogant or assertive 2. reflecting, expressing, or offered in a spirit of deference or submission. I pray that we can all humble ourselves before the Lord our God and He WILL lift us up.

So today I am thankful for my local antique mall. I just love antiques and finding treasures buried beneath other treasures. The mall here is so huge it would take you a whole day to see everything in it. It also has a small tea room (which I absolutely adore) that serves many different kinds of tea, sandwiches, and wonderful desserts. I have eaten there many times and it is so good. Well, I mentioned on Monday that last Saturday Fuzzy Duck and I went there for a few hours and I found some things.

Here they are:

This glass jar caught my eye because of it's color. Hubby has recently started to
collect colored glass in different shapes and sizes to put in our bay/picture
window in our kitchen. The sun shines right through them in the afternoon and
our kitchen is filled with shades of blue, red, yellow, and green. It is so beautiful!

Not a very good picture because of the glare (sorry!). It says "When God
closes a door, He opens a window". I think that says it all.

My bargain of the day! This is a quilted table runner. Guess how much
it cost? Only $5.00!! I think it is beautiful and goes with my house so well.

I hope you all have something to be thankful for today. I know everyday I am thankful for Heavenly Father who loves me for me.

God bless,

Windy with a chance of kite flying

Scripture of the day: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" -Jeremiah 29:11, NIV

Good Morning! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. We had a relaxing one. On Saturday Hubby took Bear to the playground and they flew a kite. It was extremely windy so it worked out pretty well. When they came home Fuzzy Duck and I went to the antique mall. Fuzzy Duck was very cooperative and slept the whole time. I found a few treasures for myself and something for Hubby. I will make a post about those later in the week.

Sunday was a great day at church. Our pastor is so amazing! Sunday night we had Hubby's parents over for dinner...YUMMY!

The menu for this week is as follows:
Monday- Spaghetti with salad and french bread.
Tuesday- leftovers
Wednesday- Church so something quick like a sandwich or Drive-Thru.
Thursday- Pizza for Hubby and Bear, a nice church dinner for me :)
Friday- Oven-fried chicken, mac and cheese, and corn.
Saturday- Manwich and tator tots (we never had this last week, something came up).
Sunday- Rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, and salad.

Recipe of the week:

Hamburger Casserole-

What you will need:
1 lb. of ground beef
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 green pepper diced
1 small onion diced
2 cups of Velveeta cheese

Brown the ground beef with the onions and peppers. Drain well. Grease a 9x13 in. baking dish. Combine the diced tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, and ground beef mixture. Top with the cheese. Bake at 350 for 20-30 min. or until the cheese is melted. Serve hot!

I am now incorporating a new section on Monday Fun Day's. It is called...

Sacred Sunday

Scripture of the day: "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" -John 14:6, NIV

Welcome back to Sacred Sunday! I am excited that you have joined me again today. I love worshipping God through music and so today I have a few worship videos that I hope you enjoy and can share with someone. I have recently started working out and I love turning on my iPod and playing worship music while I exercise. It gets me pumped and motivated to keep on going because I don't want the music to end. Today's scripture is so awesome and what makes it even better is that Jesus actually said those words. I love the red letter editions of the bible. It lets you know exactly where to find Jesus' words to us. The whole entire bible from Genesis to Revelation leads to Jesus. If you know that about the bible when reading it then it sounds more like a love letter to you. Enjoy the videos!

These are just a few of my favorites! If you have a certain song that you love please post it in the comments section and I will get it up next week! I would love to know what everyone else loves! Have a blessed Sunday and love on your family today. Give someone a hug and let them know you care!

God Bless,

To Crochet or Not to Crochet...

Scripture of the Day: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."-Luke 6:38, NIV

Happy Thankful Thursday everyone! What are you thankful for today? I am thankful for my MOPS group. Today is MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) day for me. I get to have some mommy time while the kiddos learn something new about Jesus and the Bible. I am so excited and I just love my church. Not only do they offer a lot for my children, but they have so much for adults to get involved in as well. They also have more senior adult programs than I have ever seen. Our pastor is awesome and he only preaches from the Bible and not from his own perspective.

Well, today we are going to talk a little bit about crocheting. I have been wanting to learn this skill for a while now. A friend of mine (who lives in another state) tried teaching me and I just couldn't get it at the time. Plus, we moved in the midst of the teaching :( So the other day while at Wally World I bought a book and DVD on how to teach yourself to crochet. I also bought some beautiful yarn and several different kinds of crocheting hooks. So now comes the hard part...I actually have to do this! Yikes! If anyone knows how to crochet that lives near me (only friends of mine would know this) please email me so we can get together so you can teach me in person. LOL! I am just practicing right now, but I can't even get the first "stitch" in! Hahaha! I tried and tried, but to no avail. But like the saying goes "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again". And so, I will keep it up.

I will post pictures from time to time on my progress. So far I have made the yarn into a yarn ball. This is actually harder than you think. My fingers gave out on my several! I love laughing at myself. I really want to learn this because I have heard it is relaxing and you can make nice gifts for your friends and loved ones and they know it is something from your heart that you labored over and spent time thinking about them while making it.

Here are some pictures of some things I would love to try to make someday:

I just think these hearts are so cute. You could use them on a blanket
or make a coin purse or even ornaments.

Little Christmas ornaments. These would make great gifts!

A beautiful pot holder or decoration for the kitchen.

Of course a baby hat!

A small Afghan for your lap.

I just love the detail of this one...isn't it pretty?!

This one could be squares to an Afghan or dish towels!

This one is so pretty. It's called a Danish heart!

Aren't all of the designs beautiful? One day I will be able to make some of these things. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and weekend. On Friday and Saturday here it is supposed to be in the mid 70's!!! Time to go to the park!

God bless,

Valentine's Day Pictures

Scripture of the Day: "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." -Ecclesiastes 3:1, NKJV

Here are some pictures of us from Valentine's Day. Notice there are no pictures of Hubby and hoo. There was no one to take them and then when I thought about setting the timer on the camera, we were already in bed asleep. Oh well, here are Bear and Fuzzy Duck and random pictures from that day! Enjoy!

Bear and Fuzzy Duck look adorable!

My beautiful table setting! That is not alcohol in those
glasses, it is sparkling cider, I just love that stuff!

The lovely cake I made! It was so yummy!

I made homemade chocolate covered strawberries!

Bear made this card for his daddy! Isn't it cute?!

Hubby made this one for me with some "helping hands".
Notice that the hands make little hearts!

Fuzzy Duck smiling for mommy!

Bear is saying cheeeeeese!!

And finally Hubby serenaded us with some beautiful music
played on his guitar!

What is Love?

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16, NIV

What is Love?
With Valentine's Day tomorrow I thought about what I would write today. I prayed about it and this verse kept coming to mind. It is God showing His love for us.
This scripture says it all for me. God so loved the world! That's you and me and everyone else in the world. Isn't it wonderful to know that no matter what we go through, where we have been, what we will go through, God loves us unconditionally? He actually sacrificed His only Son for the world. I don't know about you, but if God asked me to sacrifice one of my sons, I would have a very hard time with it. This was His only Son. He also asks something of us in this scripture: we must believe in Him to have eternal life. Seems simple enough, right? Well, He means we have to accept Christ's death on the cross for our sins and believe it really happened and we will have eternal life in Heaven with God. We are all sinners and all fall short of the glory of God. God still loves every single person in the world. He does not want to see anyone perish. He made us in His own image. I hope and pray for each one of you that you will say the sinners prayer and truly believe what God has done for YOU! God is so amazing!
Sinner's Prayer:
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
If you prayed this prayer, please contact me via email or tell someone close to you that you can trust (a pastor, a friend, a neighbor, a family member). Your next step is to get connected with a Bible believing church. Congratulations! God is so awesome!
I hope you all enjoyed my post today. I know I had a blast writing it and praying over every word of it. Please come back soon to see what I have on the calendar and menu for this week on Monday! God Bless, Kristy

Welcome to my circus!

Scripture of the day: "Love each other as I have loved you." -John 15:12, NIV

Hi there! Thank you so much fo stopping by my blog. I will use this first post just to introduce myself and my family. I will also tell you a little bit about how my posts will work.
As you can see from my profile my name is Kristy. I will be using nicknames for the rest of my family. I am a stay-at-home mommy to two wonderful little boys. I love to read, bargain shop, use coupons, and cook. I love taking care of my family and playing with my children. I love God and pray that my children grow up and know Him as well.
"Bear" is 2 1/2 years old and is very smart, sensitive, and a little bit of a momma's boy. He is becoming more independent each day. He is just like me, although his interests are his daddy's. I also have a 6 month old baby boy. We'll call him "Fuzzy Duck" because his hair looks like a baby duck. He is just like his daddy in many ways. He is very sweet and lovable. He is getting bigger every day (way too fast!).
My husband, "Hubby", and I have been married for 6 1/2 years now. He works hard everyday for us. He is an awesome husband, spiritual leader, friend, provider, and daddy to our boys. He loves his family and his job. But most of all he loves God.

This is Hubby and I

This is Bear and Fuzzy Duck

Well there you have it! My family is small but we love each other!

How the Blog will work:
I am hoping to do the posts 3 days per week. Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Some weeks may be more and some will be less. On Mondays I will do menu planning for the week as well as extras that will reflect my week and what we will be doing. Thursdays will be miscellaneous posts about different things that God puts on my heart to post. Sundays will be things such as scriptures, a sermon, a prayer, or things of that nature. Every post will have a scripture of the day included.
I want to give God all of the glory. I pray that each time you visit God will bless you through this blog. I hope you enjoy the posts!
Talk to you next time!

God Bless,
