Train up a child

Scripture of the day: "Zealous for good works." -Titus 2:14c

Have Sunday! I hope you get to relax and enjoy your day of worship and rest. We are so glad to have Sunday's. We went to church this morning and had a great time. Now we are hanging out at home enjoying each other and playing with the children. What joy days like these bring to my life!

This is Dr. Charles Stanley (if you don't already know)

Today I am posting a link to a sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley. It is about training up your children in a godly manner. It is really good. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Here are some great quotes about mothering and a mother's responsibility with training children:
  1. "Christian motherhood means dedicating your entire life in service of others. It means standing beside your husband, following him, and investing in the lives of children whom you hope will both survive you and surpass you. It means forgoing present satisfaction for eternal rewards. It means investing in the lives of others who may never fully appreciate your sacrifice or comprehend the depth of your love. And it means doing all these things, not because you will receive the praise of man — for you will not — but because God made you to be a woman and a mother, and there is great contentment in that biblical calling." ~Doug Phillips
  2. ”In the midst of washing diapers and meditating on Jesus washing the feet of the disciples, she questioned how this could be God? I am a missionary not a nursemaid. The Lord spoke to her, ‘It is not the business of the servant to decide which work is great, which is small, which is important or unimportant, he is not greater than his master.’ It is the undiscerning that does not consider motherhood spiritual. We know nothing of the love of God if we can’t be found faithful in our call to mother- hood. Jesus said, ‘Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven." ~Amy Carmichael
  3. "A woman unacquainted with the Bible, and ignorant of its contents affecting her own conduct, character, and history, has yet to know the *finest threads of female loveliness*. The Bible is the best mirror by which to know what you are, and to become what you should be...." -- John Angell James
  4. "Oh, Mothers of young children... Your work is most holy. You are fashioning the destinies of immortal souls. The powers folded up in the little ones that you hushed to sleep in your bosoms last night, are powers that shall exist forever. You are preparing them for their immortal destiny and influence. Be faithful. Take up your sacred burden reverently. Be sure that your life is sweet and clean."--JR Miller
Have a blessed day!

God Bless,

Kristy
